North Versailles Diner

There is one diner in North Versailles, where you will find home cooked meals away from home. Eating breakfast, lunch or dinner at the Great Valley Diner, in the Great Valley Shopping Center on Route 30, is like stepping back in time. You'll see shelves of nostalgic items, old time advertisements on the walls - even the original roof, tile walls and floor!

Breakfast - Lunch - Dinner

Great Valley Diner serves breakfast every morning starting at 6:00 AM, and they'll serve it right up until their doors close at 8:00 in the evening (6:00 on Sundays). You can look at their menu and then call your breakfast, lunch or dinner order ahead at 412-829-6900 or fax it into 412-829-6990.

Every day sees a tantalizing breakfast, lunch and dinner special, a tasty sandwich special and a delectable pasta special. There are always two soups on the menu. On Friday, you can enjoy the 22-ounce Titanic fish sandwich. People are amazed at the sight of the Titanic sandwich when it arrives at their table. All their specials are priced with your stomach and wallet in mind, so bring your date to your next meal at Great Valley Diner.

Introducing the Wildcat Burger! This 100% fresh one-pound cheeseburger is served on a homemade bun with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle and their unique Gee sauce. The Wildcat Burger is surrounded by fresh cut French fries.

Catering

At Great Valley Diner, they love to cater your large or small event. Having a party at work? Celebrating an anniversary? Time for a birthday party? Take a look at their scrumptious catering menu - which of course they can customize to your request. Whatever the occasion, call Great Valley Diner at 412-829-6900. They'll do the work for you, so you can enjoy it too!

Yesterday And Today

Poodle skirts, Oxfords and Isaly's were all the rage in Pittsburgh when Isaly's opened in the new Great Valley Shopping Center in the 1950s. When a changing Pittsburgh caused this Isaly's location to close, the diner continued to operate. Current management, starting April, 2008, implemented strict quality control standards and welcomed many former patrons back to enjoy the food once more at Great Valley Diner. Along the way, they stocked the walls and shelves with items that recall the history of the diner - a working, jukebox, 50s style telephone, railroad lights, photos and Coca Cola collectibles, to name just a few.

Today, two dozen people work hard to cook a great meal and bring it to your table. And dozens of "old timers" who enjoyed Isaly's as teenagers years ago still stop by mornings for the Great Valley Diner Coffee Club. One more thing remains the same: the Isaly's logo in tile in the foyer still welcomes you to eat there with your friends. Cardigan sweater is not required.
